Moment in Time Project

Poet Laureate Project: The Truth of War

At the beginning of this project students were each assigned a country most of which were countries that were excluded from history books but still played a crucial role in WW1. We then dove deep into research with the task of choosing a event that connected our country to WW1 and a perspective of someone from this event. We then wrote poems with a specific form, meter, and rhyme scheme which would be from the perspective of whom we choose. Then we were put into design team groups (see more details about this below) where we would create and publish a book along with organize a book launch party. Our book (see to the left) would contain the poems each student had written accompanied by an essay explaining the historical context. Near the end of this project we also created presentations as a way to educate our classmates about our countries and events.

For this project I was put into the design team, this teams role was to create the acctual book. Many different things went into this the publication of this book. Some of my acomplishments personally include; created cover art a watercolor painting (picture to the right), worked on front and back cover in photoshop, helped make a format for poems and essays, helped work on title page, sponsor page and the table of contents, created the notes section of the book, edited poems and essays.
