Happiness Project
Model United Nations Project
During this project students learned about the United Nations, we studied how they run and how they participate in world issues. We studied two world issues during this project the North Korea Nuclear crisis and the Israel Palestine conflict, later in the project we would work to find resolutions and solve these issues. For our final exhibition on this project we would have a Model United Nations conference, each student was assigned to a country they would study however I was assigned to be a chair this means my partner and I would run the conference at our final exhibition. I was also assigned different tasks such as issue briefs, the script and creating posters. This project was an overall success and helped me learn so much about what is going on in our world today.
Tragedy Project
During this project we studied Greek tragedies, we learned the different aspects and structures of a tragedy. We read two plays, Oedipus Rex and Medea, both of these are very well know. After that we started to learn about social issues in our world today to create our own modern day tragedies. We watched documentaries and read articles on or social issue to make sure we could clearly see the two different perspectives. Soon after we stared to create our characters making sure they had the characteristics of a tragic hero. We created a two to three scene plot which included a chorus. Then we either put into a graphic novel or a video. To finish off the project we had an in class exhibition to present our work. This project was a great way to study Greek tragedies and modern day social issues.
