What is Art? Influential Art Movements and Artists Research Project
Surrealism Art Movement Presentation
How have you expanded your thoughts about "What constitutes as art?" I have expanded how I have thought about art by exploring different art movements and artists. This project has brought to light what art really is and how that definition has changed thought different art movements. I have noticed how the standards and classifications of art went from being very traditional, a painting on a canvas, to much more expressive and abstract. Studying surrealism I have found that even though this can follow kind of a traditional path it breaks the boundaries of creating art that makes sense. It unleashes the creative unconscious mind and lets artists express themselves in unreal ways. This art movement followed the Dada art movement which is based on "anti-art," which completely changed what constitutes as art. I believe art can be found almost anywhere and can be considered the product or idea of someone expressing their thoughts and emotions in creative ways.

Create Your Own Art Project
For this project we were given the freedom to design our own digital art project. I choose to incorporate our last digital art project because I was inspired by my topic; Surrealism and eager to create a studio art piece influenced by it. Throughout my research I watch many time-lapses of other surrealist paintings and a few How To videos on different techniques. I was inspired by a few specific paintings and artists which helped me plan out my painting and design. I incorporated the digital component of this project into my art piece by doing a time-lapse of it and posting the video to YouTube.
